Namaste. Given orienteering is outside in the fresh air, and we attract relatively small numbers (and over a staggered time frame), orienteering events are at this stage still being held in Tasmania.
This week the Hobart Wednesday event is at Risdon Brook Dam.
It's the final Wednesday event in Hobart this week. It's at Risdon Brook Dam and doubles as the Southern Schools Championships. Don't be put off by the "championships" tag. The event will be pretty much the same as usual except for a few differences which we recommend you read about here.
Northern Schools Championships Friday 27 March.
Entries are now open for the Northern Schools Orienteering Championships
Along with the statewide Schools Championship and nominated state selection events, the Northern Schools Championships provide a pathway for young orienteering athletes towards possible selection in the Tasmanian Schools Orienteering team.
The Northern Schools Championships are open to all school aged students from Northern Tasmania.
Taroona Twilight Doesn’t Disappoint.
Fantastic weather and a picturesque beach-setting attracted a large attendance at Southern Twilight 5. And newbie course setters Steve and Ash Watson gave all participants plenty of opportunity to choose the right (or wrong) route choices.
For school students, your Twilight Series has finished. We added the results of your best 4 events and the results are here.
To calculate the top schools, we added up the scores of your best 3 students (it doesn’t matter if they did Long, Medium, Short or Primary courses). Congratulations to Taroona High School for winning both the Boys and Girls Secondary trophies. And guess which school won the Primary Schools trophy – yes, South Hobart Primary won it for the 7th season in a row. The top 3 schools in each section are listed here.
